Description
The gold original, from the Merovingian period, was found next to a wall at the Roman Villa near Bignor, Sussex. It is set with an oval cabochon intaglio Carnelian, but this example has a silver representation of the stone. It is also available in silver with a hand carved Carnelian (HJR 457b) and in 9 carat gold with a Carnelian intaglio (HJR 457a).The top measures 16.5 mm x 16 mm.
