Description
The Medieval Lead original is a Pilgrim Ampulla, to hold Holy water, decorated with a Latin inscription "Thomas is the best Doctor of the worthy sick". The Obverse shows Thomas a'Becket and the reverse shows the Martyrdom of Thomas a'Becket with one knight. It dates from the 13th century AD and found in 1982 in the River Thames Waterfront Revetment Dump at Swan Lane in the City of London. It measures 65mm in diameter and is made from Lead-free English Pewter.
