Description
The pewter original, from the 16th century AD was excavated in Chelmsford, Essesx in 1972 and depicts the Pie-ta Virgin Mary with the dead Christ in her lap. It was, perhaps, mass produced for pilgrims as a souvenir. Chelmsford and Esses Museum. Length 30mm.
